ABOUT THE SEMINAR
We are honored to have as a keynote speaker the renowned author and researcher Myrna B. Shure, Ph. D. from Drexel University-Philadelphia at El Valor's next quarterly Seminar for Early Childhood Professionals on Saturday, April 14, 2012, at the Hilton Oak Lawn Hotel.
The seminar will focus exclusively on the “I Can Problem Solve” (ICPS) and the “Raising a Thinking Child” (RATC) social and emotional curricula that teach critical thinking and empathic skills. Dr. Myrna Shure, a developmental psychologist, is creator of the “I Can Problem Solve” program, will present at the seminar.

Dr. Shure is the esteemed researcher and creator of the Raising a Thinking Child Program for families with young children and the I Can Problem Solve school curriculum for pre-schoolers and young children. The Raising a Thinking Child Program provides steps that parents can follow to teach their young children to solve problems and resolve everyday conflicts.
The Raising a Thinking Child Program has been recognized for research and service by the National Association of School Psychologists, the Center for the Study of Prevention of Violence, University of Colorado, the U.S. Department of Education, the U.S. Department of Justice, and the Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning. Dr. Shure has received recognitions for her research relating to schools and families resulting in valuable applications that make a difference in people’s lives.
