- 2010 El Valor nominated to become a Center of Excellence by the United States Department of Health and Human Services - Head Start Program
- 2009 El Valor presented with the Premio Empresarial Award for its Leadership Through Education University Partnership Programs and its Latino Leadership Connections Project.
- 2009 Dr. Vincent Allocco is presented with the César E. Chávez Community Award by National-Louis University.
- 2005 Multicultural Organization Award, presented to El Valor by the United States Department of Agriculture in recognition of the outstanding commitment to providing a conservation education and science curriculum to Latino student each year in the greater Chicago metropolitan area.
- 2005 Community Champion Award presented to El Valor by Action for Children for El Valor’s work in training Spanish-speaking in-home child care providers across Cook County.
- 2004 El Valor ranked among the 12 Top Non-Profits in the country by Hispanic Business Magazine
- 2003 Hispanic Heroes Award was presented to El Valor’s Rey Gonzalez by the Chicago Fire for his commendable work in assuring equal access to educational and career opportunities for all communities.
- 2003 Hispanic Heroes Award was presented to El Valor’s Saul Robles by the Chicago Fire for his commendable work in the lives of children and families in Chicago’s communities.
- The 2002 Celeste Pena Award was presented to Vincent A. Allocco, Ph.D. for his outstanding contributions in the Latino community.
- 2002 Hispanic Heroes Award was presented to El Valor’s Clara Lopez by the Chicago Fire for her commendable work in the lives of children.
- The 2002 Cesar Chavez Award was presented to El Valor’s Board President Rey B. Gonzalez by the United States Institute for Hispanic Leadership Institute for his lifelong dedication and commitment to Hispanic and minority educational initiatives.
- 2001 Hispanic Heroes Award was presented to El Valor’s Board Secretary, Phil Fuentes by the Chicago Fire for his commendable work in communities around Chicagoland.
- 2000 Marine Scholarship Educator of the Year Award was presented by The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation to Vincent A. Allocco for his work to make high quality education accessible to all.
- Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). El Valor is accredited by this major accrediting body for vocational and medical rehabilitation programs in the United States. El Valor holds a three year accreditation from CARF, their highest level of recognition. The United States Department of Agriculture presented Rolando Madrid of the Youth Enrichment Program their Public Service Award. The Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund (MALEF) 2000 Education Award was presented to Vincent Allocco in recognition of his work to make high quality education accessible to all.
- National Latino Children’s Agenda’s La Promesa Award recognized Tocar el Futuro as one of the highest quality children’s programs in the country (1996).
- Chicago magazine named Guadalupe Reyes as one of eight “Chicagoans of the Year” (1997). Hispanic magazine awarded Guadalupe Reyes the Hispanic Achievement Award for her commitment and work with Hispanic families (1996).
- Voices for Illinois Children’s Kids Count Award was presented to El Valor for efforts to build a better future for children (1997).
- NBC 5 Chicago and AT&T presented El Valor’s Board President Rey B. Gonzalez with the Jefferson Award for Public Service (1999). El Valor’s late founder, Guadalupe Reyes, also was honored with this Jefferson Award for Public Service (1997).
- U.S. Secretary of Education’s “A+ Award” for excellence in education (1994).
