Annual Mothers’ School Readiness Conference
El Valor’s Annual Mothers’ School Readiness Conference continues to grow in attendance year over year. Mother’s are encouraged to attend without children in order to be fully present and have some time for themselves. Topics covered include:
- What is Head Start, what are our responsibilities and what are parents responsibilities
- Education Outcomes as an alternative to report cards
- Keynote speaker discuses the importance of supporting your child’s education and partnering with their school in a variety of areas to get their children ready for their educational future
Annual Father’s Conferences
El Valor has noticed and values the increase in father’s participating in child pick up for events. In order to continue their welcome, we host an Annual Father’s Conference.
Past topics have included Emergency Preparedness and Men’s Health. Through reminding father’s that they are a role model for their entire family, El Valor’s goal is to create a feeling of togetherness in the school and at home.
The men attending the conference often form strong bonds with other dads and participate in our Saturday Father’s Support group, meeting once a month to speak on a variety of topics.
