JOB SUMMARY:
As a key member of the Senior Leadership team, the Chief financial Officer will report to the President and CEO and assume a strategic role in the overall management of the organization. The CFO will have primary day to day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial related activities of the organization. This includes primary responsibility for managing the financial risks of the organization, monitoring cash flow, financial planning, financial and statistical reporting, and general accounting. The CFO is also responsible for financial reporting to senior management and the Board of Directors.
JOB FUNCTIONS: (include but is not limited to the following)
- Provides leadership in the development of the continuous evaluation of short and long term strategic financial objectives.
- Oversees, prepares and timely submission of calendar year end audits for limited partnerships and the consolidated fiscal year-end audit.
- Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations that govern accounting for non-profits in general and specific to grants management, early childhood funding, and medicare funding.
- Establishes appropriate controls and processes to enhance efficiency and sound fiscal operations which adjusting to organizational growth.
- Monitors key financial indicators and ratios and recommends and takes actions required to maintain or improve these indicators.
- Supervise the management of cash flow, accounts payable, accounts receivables, invoicing, expense reports and payroll for the agency.
- Evaluates and advises on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action.
- Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets and consolidation and reporting to the organization.
- Provide senior leadership with advice on the financial implications of business activities.
- Works with senior management to increase fundraising events, grant writing, and other streams of revenue.
- Manages administrative and operational systems for maintaining all necessary records, ensuring compliance with financial, legal, health, safety and other regulatory requirements.
- Ensures that systems are in place to maximize revenue, minimize expenses, and meet capital requirements for all agency property.
- Produce, review and interpret monthly financial statements.
- Serve on agency committees and act as a liaison to the Board of Directors Finance Committee as designated by the Chief Executive Officer.
- Meet and provide guidance to program heads regarding strategic planning and forecasting.
- Examines insurance policies to ascertain that agency assets are properly insured against loss.
- Supervise fiscal team to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks.
- Evaluate staff performance regularly to ensure that they are growing appropriately and meeting the goals of the organization.
- Reviews, categorizes and maintains all organizational contracts and assures proper recognition in accounting systems and financial statements.
- Maintains effective fiscal relationships with funding sources and vendors.
- Coordinates special reimbursement billings.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors in accounting or finance, and/or CPA required.
- Masters degree in related field preferred.
- Knowledge of the Single Audit Act.
- Medicare cost reporting experience preferred.
- Five to ten years of prior experience required.
- Excellent interpersonal and intercultural communication skills; excellent oral communication;
- Strong written communication, research, and organizational skills;
- Computer literacy, with experience with fundraising databases required;
- Flexibility to work evening and weekend hours as needed.

WAGE/SALARY RANGE:
- $110,000 – 125,000 / year
- Based on experience and education

SCHEDULE:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday (some weekends and evenings may apply as needed)
- Remote work days available after probationary period
- Flexibility to work evening and weekend hours as needed.
