JOB SUMMARY:

The Coordinator of Residential Services will support the management team with regard to all six Community Integrated Living Arrangements in the Agency. Assists in the oversight of all day to day operations for El Valor’s six Community Integrated Living Arrangements. The Coordinator will work directly with the Manager of Residential Services and House Supervisors to ensure compliance with all program requirements, staffing of all homes, assist in training of Direct Support Personnel, and provide support to the facilities to ensure meaningful community engagement  

JOB FUNCTIONS: (include but are not limited to the following)

  • Assists the Manger in training Direct Support Personnel in implementing meaningful programming and adherence to all licensing requirements. 
  • Works on various projects to ensures compliance with all federal and state regulations, as well as compliance with accreditation, certification, funding, and health & safety standards.   
  • Assists with coordination and completion of new client intake visits and packets.   
  • Reviews reports and records of activities provided by residential program coordinators to ensure progress is being accomplished toward specific program objectives, and modifies methods and procedures as necessary to redirect activities and attain objectives. 
  • Works collaboratively with other department members to ensure that all benefits applications are current and timely completed.  
  • Conducts interviews and completes new hire packets for candidates being placed in the residential program.  
  • Conduct monthly walk throughs in all homes to complete environment check lists and ensure required documentation is present.  
  • Assist in completing on the job training for direct care staff. 
  • Participate in the on call schedule. 
  • Coordinate quarterly in service trainings and monthly house meetings.  
  • Provides training oversight and guidance with staff in residential facilities. 
  • Completes assessments for residential participants.  
  • Assists in community outings and documentation related to outings as needed.  
  • Participates in trainings and committees as needed. 
  • Assists in medical appointments for residents.  
  • Conducts regular safety drills in facilities.  
  • Other duties as assigned. 

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS in Human Services field from an accredited school of higher education required.
  • Two years of prior experience with the Intellectual and Developmental Disability (IDD) population preferred;
  • Fluent verbal and written English and Spanish communication preferred;
  • Completion of a DSP certification training program preferred but not required (training may be provided);
  • Passion and commitment working with adult with intellectual and developmental disabilities;
  • Must pass a reading comprehension test and pre-employment background check screening requirements;
  • Successful completion of First Aid/CPR certification required within four months of hire or current certification;
  • Complete Medication Administration training courses within four months of hire;
  • Current, valid Illinois driver’s license and proof of insurance required;
  • Reliable means of transportation required;
  • Willing to work evenings, weekends, overnights and overtime as needed;
  • Flexibility and ability to work all shifts;
  • May be required to lift/move objects weighing up to 40 pounds;
  • May be required to lift and transfer individuals when necessary.

EMPLOYMENT TYPE:

WAGE/SALARY RANGE:

  • $23.00 – $26.00 / hour

  • Flexibility to travel to other worksites/work assignments required.
