2019 El Valor Monarch Butterfly Release

On Wednesday, September 11, we released over 300 monarch butterflies and watched as they began their journey south to Michoacán, Mexico. El Valor’s children, adults with disabilities, staff, and families worked hard all summer preparing for this event. They gardened the milkweed, tended to the growing caterpillars, and learned how to take care of these beautiful creatures as they emerged from their chrysalises as butterflies.
