LAMA Rolls In!
On August 20, 2016, El Valor’s Carlos Cantu Children & Family Center in Little Village once again had the pleasure and honor of welcoming the Latin American Motorcycle Association (LAMA) for the annual Pen and Pencil Run. Each year, LAMA works tirelessly to secure donations of backpacks, pencils, notebooks, crayons, and other essential supplies a child needs to be successful in school. A special thank you is owed to Stickney-Forest View Public Library for donating books to the Pen and Pencil Run.
Children and families anxiously awaited the sound of roaring motorcycles carrying the donations. It was a fun and exciting day enjoyed by all! El Valor is grateful for the generosity and dedication of LAMA, which make this event happen rain or shine. At this year’s Pen and Pencil run, more than 60 families attended and more than 130 children received school supplies. Thank you, LAMA!
