JOB SUMMARY:
The Manager of Resource Development is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing resource development strategies to increase financial support and donor engagement. This position will focus on fundraising, donor cultivation, and stewardship to support the organization’s mission. The Manager will work closely with the Director of External Affairs, development team, and other key stakeholders to achieve annual revenue goals and ensure alignment with organizational priorities.Ideal candidates will be a creative self starter who is willing to run with new ideas and has a passion for supporting the community.
JOB FUNCTIONS: (include but is not limited to the following)
Fundraising Strategy & Execution
- Develop and execute comprehensive resource development plans, including individual giving, corporate sponsorships, foundation grants, and special events.
- Lead annual fundraising campaigns, including end-of-year giving and monthly giving initiatives.
- Identify new opportunities for unrestricted funding to support operational sustainability.
Donor Cultivation & Stewardship
- Build and maintain relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, and foundation representatives.
- Oversee donor acknowledgment processes, including thank-you letters, reports, and public recognition.
- Develop and implement a tiered donor recognition program to enhance engagement and retention.
- Identify areas for the Organization to grow its network.
Event Management
- Collaborate with the development team to plan and execute fundraising events such as galas, golf outings, and community engagement activities.
- Create post-event analyses to evaluate success and identify areas for improvement.
Grant Development
- Research and identify grant opportunities that align with the organization’s mission and strategic goals.
- Collaborate with program managers to gather data and impact stories for grant applications and reports.
- Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and ensure timely submissions and compliance.
Data Management & Reporting
- Utilize donor management systems (e.g., Salesforce) to track donor engagement, analyze giving trends, and generate reports.
- Maintain accurate records of donor interactions, gifts, and pledges.
- Provide regular updates to leadership on progress toward fundraising goals.
Team Collaboration
- Partner with marketing and communications teams to develop materials that support fundraising efforts.
- Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration to ensure alignment between programmatic needs and funding strategies.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior development staff.
- Assist senior team with assignments as needed.
- Oversee and coordinate calendar of executive director as needed.
- Other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing required.
- A minimum of five years of non-profit fundraising/development experience preferred.
- Familiarity with education, disability and diversity issues;
- Spanish language fluency preferred;
- Excellent interpersonal and intercultural communication skills; excellent oral communication;
- Strong written communication, research, and organizational skills;
- Ability to develop and manage budgets and prepare financial reports;
- Computer literacy, with experience with fundraising databases required;
- Interest, enthusiasm, and affinity for fundraising and working with people;
- Individual will be self-motivated, work well under pressure and be able to handle several projects at one time.
- Flexibility to work evening and weekend hours as needed.

WAGE/SALARY RANGE:
- $70,000 – 78,000 / year

SCHEDULE:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday (some weekends and evenings may apply as needed)
- Remote work days available after probationary period
- Flexibility to work evening and weekend hours as needed.
