Teaching Together Chicago Creates Jobs for Adults with Disabilities
El Valor is partnering with Helping Hands and The Center for Independence through Conductive Education to administer Teaching Together Chicago, a program committed to expanding employment opportunities for adults with disabilities. Teaching Together Chicago, funded by the The Coleman Foundation, trains adults with disabilities to work as aides in Chicago-area classrooms. The program started in September 2016 and has already placed interns in paid positions at St. William Catholic School, St. Agnes of Bohemia, and El Valor’s own early childhood classrooms. Congratulations to our interns and local Catholic Schools for creating a more inclusive community that celebrates the diversity of gifts and supports the needs of all people!
