JOB SUMMARY:
The Vice President of Programs (VP) will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing the organization’s programmatic activities, including housing, day programming, and employment services. The VP will work closely with the CEO, Board of Directors, and senior management to ensure that all programs are strategically aligned, effective, and responsive to the needs of the individuals we serve. This is a critical leadership role that requires a combination of program management expertise, strategic vision, and a deep commitment to supporting adults with intellectual disabilities.
JOB FUNCTIONS: (include but is not limited to the following)
Leadership & Strategy:
- Develop and implement the strategic direction for all program areas, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission, values, and long-term goals.
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a diverse team of program directors and staff across housing, day programs, and employment services.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to integrate services and ensure seamless delivery of holistic support for individuals.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the program teams.
Program Management & Development:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the housing, day programming, and employment services, ensuring high-quality service delivery and compliance with applicable regulations and best practices.
- Lead the design and development of new programs and initiatives that expand opportunities and improve outcomes for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
- Monitor program performance through data collection, client feedback, and outcome assessments to ensure services are effective and person-centered.
- Work closely with the CEO to establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for all program areas.
Budgeting & Resource Management:
- Prepare and manage program budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and adherence to financial guidelines.
- Ensure that all programs are adequately staffed and resourced to meet the needs of participants, including recruiting, training, and retaining qualified program staff.
- Develop and implement strategies for securing funding and grants to support program growth and sustainability.
Community & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Represent the organization to external stakeholders, including government agencies, community partners, donors, and advocacy groups.
- Build and maintain relationships with key partners, including service providers, community organizations, and employers, to enhance program offerings and expand opportunities for individuals.
- Ensure effective communication with families, caregivers, and individuals served to maintain a high level of satisfaction and engagement.
Compliance & Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that all programs comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including licensing, safety, and reporting requirements.
- Lead efforts to continuously improve program quality and service delivery, incorporating best practices and feedback from participants and stakeholders.
- Oversee the development and implementation of training programs for staff to ensure high standards of care and service delivery.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Masters degree or higher level of education from an accredited college or university required.
- At least 7-10 years of experience in program management, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role within a non-profit or human services organization.
- Demonstrated experience in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities, including housing, day programs, and/or employment services.
- Proven track record of strategic planning, program development, and staff management.
- Experience with budgeting, resource management, and fundraising in a non-profit environment.
EMPLOYMENT TYPE:

WAGE/SALARY RANGE:
- $110,000 – 125,000 / year
- Based on experience and education

- Flexibility to travel to other worksites/work assignments required.

SCHEDULE:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday (some weekends and evenings may apply as needed)
- Remote work days available after probationary period
- Flexibility to work evening and weekend hours as needed.
